What's going on..Maitland Art Center and More

I have wonderful new events and on going projects :PARTICIPATION 2008, (details below) UNITY, an Hispanic publication I recently was selected for in Connecticut (will post as soon as I have it), entries who rule out sharing the work anywhere till a later date, AWS "Love Works" event for which I am the Image Master, the SCC exhibit, COWS at COMMA, and continued work on "Bellarosas" or "Rosabellas" whose family responded to my blogged name question

In Italian the correct title would be bellerose(beautiful roses) the
adjective bella is in the plural form and it goes before the noun rosa which is
also in the plural form, but we like your title as well so keep that.

Here's the skinny on PARTICIPATION 2008(Speaking of SKINNY #1 best seller and my favorite Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin were just on ELLEN!...see it in my shelfari)
PARTICIPATION Maitland Art Center, Maitland, Florida which is Sponsored by the WHEN: Reception and Preview Show: Friday, July 25, 6:30pm- 8:30pm The Hands-on Event: Saturday, August 2, 10am-4:00pm Open to the General Public

This is a unique experience which allows donors to create a work of art with a local artist of their choice, and take it home that day. Supporters are invited to participate in the creative process, from inception to completion. Art Patrons donate $100 (starting bid) for each 45-minute time slot they reserve with their favorite artist.

First, on Friday, July 25, 2008, MAC offers the reception and sign-up opportunity. Each artist displays one selection of their artwork in the Main Gallery. At this event, the potential art patron views many styles and mediums of art, and bids an artist to their liking. They sign up with the artist of their choice.

Next, on Saturday, August 2, MAC offers the hands-on event. We set the stage at the Germaine Marvel Community Building as one huge “creation station.”

This event serves to introduce the public to the world of original art, while simultaneously promoting the careers of emerging and established artists. The mission of the Maitland Art enter is to expand, explore and educate those visitors to our studios and gardens on the importance of art in society. This event offers great collaboration between subject and viewer, creator and collector, benefactor and charity.

The Art Center is a 501C3 non-profit organization, and relies on the generous organizations in our community to offset the costs associated with this event.
