Olive Branches

"Olive Branches" was still getting layers of paint at midnight last night. I want to share a very wet begining stage in the bottom picture to give you some insight into the layering. I wanted the background on the bottom to conjur olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixed with herbs and spices. The top marks memories of Italy from travels with branches in the blue sky.

I would expect to someday soon, walk into a gourmet market, and see your art image as the label for brand of high end olive oil products.

...or Olive bread!

Wow!!! I absolutely love this work , the colors and the symbolism. Well done with integrating the spontaneous with the more painterly aspects of the painting!!
