Joyful We Adore You

Yesterday I finished this piece "Joyful We Adore You" while working on my art at Kaye's lovely grand studio space on the lake in Orlando Florida. Five of us of the Bezalel artists gathered together for a Women's Assemblage to work and have fellowship. While there I got the call about my father having to go to the ER again. In the comfort of my friends and their hands of prayer I was granted peace. This morning my mother called to let me know he is admitted to the hospital and more tests will resume during the following week.

Green Glory by Robin Maria Pedrero

I am so excited about these new pieces! I realized while out and about at the bank, and at woman's networking event where we exchanged clothes (http://www.clothesxchange.org/ BTW very cool event I won crazy stuff too!! like a spray tan, jewelry, reflexology) that my typical answer to follow up "What kind of art do you do?", is no longer accurate. I need to change my artists statement.
I have numerous works like the one above, "Green Glory" a new work just posted for sale http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25668058
and "Tea Girl" http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25548164
Stay tuned ...... It's my birthday soon & I have a GIVE AWAY coming up!!!

Key to Perfect Thoughts

My rendition is the "Key to Pearfect Thoughts" An 8" x 8" acrylic painting on linen is new and listed here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25319940
Years ago I belonged to a Mother's Group and we studied a book by Anne Ortlund "Discipline's of the Beautiful Woman". One particular line from her book pops into my mind at least once a week, "It's all between your ears". What we dwell on and how we think of things has much to do with our attitude and choices in life. And changing our negative thoughts is a key to changing in a more positive direction. The cup, bird, pear, and key are symbols I use for thoughts, spirit, nourishment, decisions, clarification, contemplation and more. Perhaps you've something to add to my list....

Team Player

There is another something wonderful about social network media aka web 2.o in the pile of benefits from participating. There are groups where you can be part of a team who are like minded, support and promote one another. I was first invited to the VAST team by lovely Kauai Artist Marionette, see just how lovely she and her artwork are on her blog http://kauai-artist.blogspot.com/ and her Etsy shop. The Visual Artist Street Team also has a blog VAST GALLERY. I began to learn lots of juicy business tactics from this team, and participate in promoting them through treasuries on Etsy.

I believe if you want to be successful do what successful people are doing. In VAST I saw many models of success, who also share how they are doing it. Artists like Kristen Stein, Karen Faulkner, and Diane Clancy (who I bought my first Etsy piece from) and truly so many more members with a list too long to include who are inspirational and giving of their craft and business skills.

On twitter there are multiple posts about UWIB and I recognized the name from VAST member treasuries. Unique Women in Business is a powerhouse! Each of these groups has rules and an interesting aspect of UWIB is that you must buy something from a member each month. At first I hesitated thinking oh gosh what did I do, I have to buy something EACH month. I just joined and already have 3 fabulous purchases! Look what I bought from Erin, Julia, and Tracy!

The above piece is an art pendant listed in my Etsy shop, you will notice the little UWIB logo in the listing http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25241502
One can even join UWIB as a shopper and enjoy the benefits of the discounts. If you join please list that I referred you.
More on being a Team Player, with DSG in another post....

Seven Acrylic paintings by Robin Maria Pedrero

My facebook friends were the first to preview my recent works created in acrylic, shown here in a small group above. Here is the link to that photo album. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=75320&id=634085269&l=32adc6d84f I shared on twitter recently how I am experiencing a bit of ambiguity; I am elated over the new works and loving the new medium and style yet feel both a little melancholy and also satisfied that my focus on skyscapes in pastel has lessened. I use many symbols like birds, landscape elements, cups, table settings, keys, natural elements, and fruits and vegetables in my current body of work. I have always been drawn to translucent layering and the medium of acrylic lends itself to this technique quite well. I take joy in pulling the colors of the landscape and sky into the works then building on that foundation. If you click on the above image you should see a large view of the wall. Thanks for sharing in my visual journey!
