Original and Print (Collector and Artist)

Here is "The Unforgettable Walk" original and print side by side.
The original will be shipped to a collector in Connecticut. This print is heading to Minnesota today to one of my new collectors who makes jewelry with an Etsy shop called "From Out of the Cracks". She mentioned how my color palette will inspire her in creating jewelry. We both love color! I stopped by her shop admiring these earrings with one of my favorite color combinations. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39060642

Collectors and Artists

"Tribute to Robin" by Cindy Koch

When there is a relationship between a collector and an artist there are so many beautiful conversations, memories and experiences shared. A particular art collector of mine has lovingly and generously created this painting titled "Tribute to Robin" and shipped it to me! I am so flattered and honored by her gift.

Love and Heartbreak

Blue Love, Saving the Heart and Stole My Heart are significant pieces which mark times of love and heartbreak. I have created Fine Art Valentine's via reproducing these images as ACEO's. They are available in my etsy shop.
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=38806950

The larger image shown is Blue Love and for the first time ever available in 8 x 11 giclee prints.
The lovely girl who was modeling for me was deeply saddened by a breakup, as she lifted the sheet it formed a broken heart and I captured that moment.

There's more....many many years ago at my very first slide review in front of 300 - 500 people when my 3 slides were reviewed by Stephen Doherty editor of American Artist, he saw this piece and called my work morbid, and furthermore said he did not know why anyone would ever want to make a piece of art like that. Today I can smile at it, back then it was soul wrenching, yet it did not waver me or viewers from falling deeply for Blue Love. And I suppose I was ahead of the times, now with Avatar and all!

Love Tower

"Love Tower" 16" x 12" acrylic by Robin Maria Pedrero

Although there's a little bit of glare in the tower part of this photo I am jumping at the chance to share this love story painting. The story is personal and belongs to one of my collectors. I asked if I could share the piece I created for her and she replied "Of course ! It is beautiful!"

I began painting love themed works a few months ago, Stole My Heart, The Unforgettable Walk, and The Engagement to name a few which are now available as prints in my etsy shop.
(originals are in private collections)

Since then just out of the blue my collectors have asked me to depict their stories. I am working on 4 commissions. I am so delighted to create these whimsical love story pieces. Perhaps you have a love story of life story to share for a painting?

Layers

I still enjoy faces...as a portrait artist for over 25 years ..ah wow .. that made me pause...
moving on...I am excited to play with my technique of translucent layering on faces. The fun 8" x 8" square above just might be exhibited at the next opening at Neu America Gallery, City Arts Factory, Third Thursday.... As I develop in my own distinctive style, compare the colorful translucent layers to the more realistic contemporary piece "In Between Dreams" one of my first acrylic portraits, from Chalk Paper Scissors 2007. (both pieces are available for purchase)

Thanks for joining me on my visual journey!
