Within Sight

Although started the same this one has a different feeling for me. From the very first layer I had a human element in there, that black spot in the distance is a person. Part of the reason it took me a bit to title this piece. There's a human element entering into the natural world. That's from the bird's perspective or if you are in the shoes of the human back there you see the bird..both within sight.

Prelude to Berlin;Inspired

Prelude to Berlin

In my excitement to share my newest and first image in my Prelude to Berlin series I took the photos early this morning and now as I post I see duller colors here on my monitor than in the piece so I will retake these pictures. Yet still excited here it is! Inspired a 10 x 10 acrylic.

It is listed for sale in my Etsy Shop where I share the meaning

Drying Art

Or should I say the Art of Drying?
It is quite humid and the paintings were varnished and dry but still tacky so I popped them in front of a fan before delivering them to the Orlando Museum of Art Gift Shop.

I went downtown Orlando to City Arts Factory, to see the preview of the Red Chairs and my artist friend's works and Gallery at Avalon Island for 3rd Thursday.

Friday I went to Deland to
Open House & Main street DeLand Tropical Nights, to Meet the Artists of “Witness To Creativity”
I went to see my friend Martha Lent (who I was so busy talking to I didn't get a pic) and meet artists I often hear about and some new ones too! I greatly enjoyed the in progress installations of

Jean Banas, New Smyrna Beach, Fl,Raina Benoit, St. Petersburg, Fl,Frances Gardner, Lancaster, SC,
Grace Leal, Cocoa Beach, Fl, Martha Lent, Winter Park, Fl, Kathy O’Meara, Port Orange, Fl, Beau Wild, Port Orange, Fl
Jean Banas and Kathy O'Meara

Frances Gardner and her assistant and my friend and artist Pat Zalisko

I was amazed at the stories behind the installations.
These above were just two of the phenomenal works!
Watching art being made can be very inspiring. It allows the viewer to see the process in action instead of just the finished product. Such an opportunity happens beginning on Friday, July 16. Six art installations will be in-process through the weekend culminating in an exhibition that will remain in place until the end of August. The public can engage the artists about their projects, work methods and messages. Museum curator, David Swoyer is excited about the idea “There will be an interesting mix between artists and visitors which is a great way to have art understood. Dialogue about a conceptual work while it is being made actually becomes part of the work. We will be documenting and posting on our website the daily progress and interchange.”

AND after that I went to the Wolfe Gallery who exhibits and sells my pastels. While there I bought some art!
Here's the artist himself  Mr. Wolfe holding my new whimsical crow!

MY BIG NEWS

Robin Maria Pedrero has been invited to exhibit in the Orlando Berlin/Berlin Orlando Exhibit in 2011.
That's my Big NEWS!! I am bound for BERLIN! The exhibit is curated by RV, Robin Van Arsdol, (here’s his Wikipedia page a must read, I clicked translate to English) RV is bringing together about twenty artists, around ten from each side of the pond. The Berlin artists will make their way here to Orlando Florida for an exhibit with us at The Orlando Museum of Art 1st Thursday on Feb 3, 2011. The Berlin artists will spend a few weeks here with us in America. Towards the end of May 2011, the Orlando artists will travel to Berlin for an exhibit with them and stay there a few weeks. Then some of us will travel with the curator to the Venice Biennial.

I am on Cloud 9!!!..in other words so excited to be living my dream! I have much work to produce and people to see and …..yes my passport was already updated and ready to go …just in case *wink*

I know so many of you will be so very excited for me and want to share in my journey! I will continue to share my adventures and art with you here and on facebook.

One key element to make it all come together is funding. I have developed a plan to help me gain the funds to live my dream and give back something of value to my patrons. If interested contact me.

Peace, Love, Music and Fireworks

When I look at this painting Acoustic Cafe I feel like singing that song used in the Coca Cola commercial
"I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.." by the New Seekers
Here's the video of the singers from way back when..it's always of interest to me how hairstyles,
and fashions although updated come around again and again.
I've been singing this song since I was a little kid.

Part of the story behind this painting was shared when I created the work,
from a guitar eventually covered in the names of American soldiers in Iraq.

If you'd like a print I have offered them in my etsy shop

Thank you to all who keep us Safe and Free in America!
Cheers America!
Happy 4th of July!

Acrylic 40” x 30” © 2010

Like an unnamed tribe, we who had the moon follow us on all those long drives in the back of our parent’s car, who watch the waxing and waning, and are mesmerized by the large ascending orb on the evening horizon …Hum Jaisa Na Dekha (we saw them as) Moonchasers ...I luv Kooza!
