Framed to ship Original Art to Celebrations Gallery in Connecticut

This is "Autumn at The Pond" which I just framed
and will ship to Celebrations Gallery .

The pastel is of a Connecticut pond near my childhood home.
I have painted various scenes
from this place which is very special to me.

This next piece is "Quenched by Dusk"

and finally "Four Balloons".

I've had flying in a balloon on my list for some time..
every time I sign up there's bad weather or the flights are full...
I will keep trying.

Making a Colorful Life

I like to live and paint a colorful world. I like my space to be contemporary and whimsical! As a child every night the jungle came to life in my room. There were 2 giraffes and 2 elephants which during the day were the windows and curtains. Now I have a giraffe in all it's whimsy! Speaking of childhood, at this time of year I remember the trick or treat bag of candy, all my favorites back in the 70's Krackle, York Peppermint Pattie, Bit O ' Honey, Almond Joy, oh and those gooey peanut butter chewy taffies. Yet the best was getting dressed up and taking on a persona! Those characters we play within our minds becoming reality. Halloween was my favorite time of year because I could be real while the world was pretending.

To stimulate creativity, one must develop the childlike inclination for play. (Albert Einstein)
I have been asked many times,  we purchased this giraffe at Go Fish in St Augustine FL.
I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek at art in progress...

Pedrero Art Collectors USA Map

Pedrero Art Collectors in these States
Make yours @ BigHugeLabs.com
http://bighugelabs.com/map.php

As far as I know these are the states where my art resides with art collectors. When a gallery or museum gift shop sells my art I do not often receive the collector's name and address so there might be more states. This is fun! I'd like to have a piece of my art collected by someone in every state.

Outside of the USA I know I've work in Canada, England, Bahrain, Japan, Scotland, and Spain.

Week #4: An Interview With Robin Maria Pedrero on Quality for Us

I met @TemporalFlush on twitter this past year. Otherwise known as Mark Parker, he asked me to join him and co -host, Heather Maher, to record an interview for their show on Wednesday.
So grab a favorite beverage, pick up your brushes, or have listen while on the elliptical machine -  there's a lot of information shared AND it's about an hour long, mixed with wonderful music from David Alcorn & Alice Woods. You can start and pause it along the way too. I did, we went for ice cream half way through and I came back to share it with you.

This first link
http://qualityforus.com/2010/09/18/week-4-an-interview-with-robin-maria-pedrero/ takes you to their site, where you can see the art we discuss and the links, then while there hit the orange button that takes you to a new window http://qualityforus.podomatic.com/
Press PLAY.

Nude study on Blue

This small nude study on blue is from an open model session. In response to an inquiry these (I showed some here last week) are $50 each. I haven't posted them on a site for sale. If interested just send me a message and we will work out the details.  I will tell you a secret... I was rushing to get to the live model session and just started pulling some pastel papers that had color on them. This was...you might have guessed it..a landscape..tilt your head to the right see the big sky and land... I have done this frequently and rather enjoy using a landscape scene for another subject. This technique like many of mine sprung from necessity, being thrifty or a better word..being green and recycling. I translated this technique over to my acrylics, hence the intentional lines you see were birthed in this process.

I am overjoyed to share these photos from Keri aka Garden Vibe on Etsy.
She bought The Unforgettable Walk and The Engagement prints and framed them beautifully!
I love how they look in her home! I truly find it such an honor to have my work in some one's space.

I like their presence and view seen on the stairs!

Abstract Nude Study

This abstract nude study began in a sketch club session.
Here it is on my easel in my studio.

This is prior to spraying it with fixative.

I just thought I would take a few of the pieces I did the other night and enhance them.
Here's a few of the nudes I drew during the session scattered on my studio table.

These are all soft pastels. Some of these the model held 15 minute poses, then 30 minutes.
