Pedrero Art Collectors USA Map April 2011

April 2011 Pedrero Art Collectors
The golden states represent states where I know I have art collectors.  The blue states, to the best of my knowledge, do not as of yet have any Pedrero patrons. If someone in the blue area does have a piece of my art it was purchased at a gallery, museum, or venue where I was not privy to the purchaser. I am excited that Janet joined my circle of art collectors and turned the state of Washington gold last week! One of the nice aspects about knowing my art collectors is that I can send them updates, postcards and news of my new works, exhibitions and events. I am sending out some info to my art collectors this week regarding my upcoming exhibits in Florida at The Gallery at Avalon Island, May 19 and the very next day in CT at Celebrations Gallery.

Here's a sneak peek of the 6ft piece I have been working on in my studio. It takes up the entire middle of the room!  It (still to be titled..ahh the elusive title) will be shown at my exhibition "Amalgamation" May 19 in downtown Orlando.

Trees

My most recent work on the easel is "Tree Bridge" a 24 x 24" acrylic.
The very first piece of art I sold when I was fifteen was an ink sketch of a crab apple tree. I remember Rose Baranowski purchased it from a gift shop where I had some matted pieces displayed. I grew up in Connecticut near a wooded pond, so from early on trees and wildlife filled my life and continue to fill my art, no matter where I am located.

"Wander Where the Wind Blows" is a favorite pastel of mine -
inspired by my journeys to places like Maui.
Trees fill my whimsical pieces.
Trees of no specific places..like Deja Vu.
and "Pink Poet"
The following is a little time bottle of trees through the years...
various styles and mediums
they have such personality!
"Fresh Sky"
"Creative Call"
"Misty Morn"
"Turning"
"Crisp Air"
"Glorious"
"Cranes Under Palm Tree"

"Two Trees"
"Palm Tree"
and although the last image here is tiny, taken before digital camera era, I still remember making the marks
and the pastels and paper I handled making this award winning piece. "I THINK that I shall never see. A poem lovely as a tree"- Kilmer

Dynamic Duos postcards are in!

The postcards for Dynamic Duos Celebrations Gallery arrived and they are huge!! Kristen Stein and I are tickled pink to each have 2 images on the front of the card! She and I have our collaborative piece in the bottom left, "Wandering Sun" and prior to this exhibit one of my favorite collaborative pieces is hers and Lyse Marion's which is in the top right, that piece has been in the series The Warehouse on the Syfy channel! Another cool thing is that both Kristen and I have our art in the movie "The Roommate". Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson and I have one of our two pieces in the top left. We both shared our detailed process and the works here and on facebook. One of several collaborations, but our first time to actually have worked on the sames pieces! I can't wait for those who get to go to the exhibit to see these pieces in person! I would love to be there, yet I've a tight schedule, although not impossible. I have the opening of "Amalgamation" the evening of the 19th in Florida and Dynamic Duos opens May 20th in Connecticut.

I am also thrilled that after I shared the call to artists my friends Mary Shaw and Beth Rommel collaborated and are in the exhibit too! When I visit Celebrations Gallery I am always attracted to the art of Regina Thomas.  I see from the card she collaborated with her husband. This is one cool event!

Here's the back of the card, which will get larger if you click on it.
I am mailing these out, with a focus on my New England art collectors. If you'd like one let me know. Soon I will be mailing out postcards for "Amalgamtion" ..you could receive one if you are my art collector or if you are on my snail mail list. (I feel wrong calling it that, as sometimes USPS mail is super speedy just not instant email)

Mystery at Every Turn - Crow Art

"Mystery at Every Turn" 12 x 12" Acrylic Mixed Media by Robin Maria Pedrero

This crow on a floral landscape is painted with a very textured background with a combination of bold thick paint and translucent layers. My work is in several galleries, museum gift shops or in my Florida studio. I can create giclee prints in various sizes, on different papers, canvas, or other options like fine art bags, so please just ask me directly regarding any options you dream of with my images.

I have a surprise coming up.... it's time to Celebrate Earth Day and Easter so I am going to have one of my popular Progressive Sales on not one but 2 new prints..so stay tuned this week to have some fun and take advantage of super savings.

A One Night Exhibit

I snapped a few quick pics with my droid phone after my assistant Jenipher and I installed my artwork at the Maitland Art Center last Friday. I am thankful for Jenipher and really enjoyed having her assistance. My day started early, loading art into my suv, art which had already been packed in bags in prior days of preparation to be on site by 9am. This particular event is one where people can buy and take right away, so small pieces are mixed in with larger pieces. Jen had school so I finished up hanging art the rest of the afternoon to return home at 3, grabbed a Jimmy Johns Veggie sub for lunch, ate while watching the rest of  Ellen, put my feet up, answered calls and emails, then showered and dressed to return for the event

at 5 pm. When I returend I moved my print stand to the right from the spot above so people could get up close to see the whimsical details in Poppies in Paradise.

Also when I returned at 5 a light was "out" on "Envisage" so we thought, but after getting a ladder out and changing the bulb we discovered it was just on a different switch.
I was beyond excited that the Forefathers performed. Everyone enjoyed .As the night came they had colorful large glowing lights all about them. I bought 2 of their cds and can't wait to make art while listening to them.
Another cool thing at Culture and Cocktails is that the Sketchclub
has a model and works live through the evening. And the food created by iCrave was tasty! I had a black bean burger and it was so scrumptious I went back and took one for the road at the end of the night.
Christina's friend snapped this shot at the opening.
The featured artists me and Jon have our work in the museum gift shop.
See my mugs, bags, cards, and paintings.

Then that very same day at 9 pm, the pieces that were not sold come back. Sales and art collectors are databased the next morning. I send out thank you and certificates of authenticity to my art collectors. And then stage an area with works for my next exhibit "Amalgamation" in May, and also another area for pieces going to galleries. Just a glimpse into a day in the life of an artist's one night exhibition.

Sneak Peek at Mystery and No Ordinary Day

"No Ordinary Day" 10 x 10" acrylic
A few new crows! Just in time to show them at Culture and Cocktails at the Maitland Art Center
in Florida,  Friday April 8th! I like the intrigue crows posses. There's a lot of texture, several layers of medium and paint, with some details in ink.

Here's a tilted view of "Mystery at Every Turn" 12" x 12" acrylic..to stay a little mysterious until the opening of the show at 6 pm.

Looking on The Bright Side

I just finished placing wire on the back of this canvas, "Looking on the Bright Side" then placed it in a protective bag in preparation for delivery to the Maitland Art Center Friday morning. The "Culture and Cocktails" event will be the first exhibition for this 20" x 20" acrylic painting. I prepared more large pieces in the same manner. Tomorrow I will wire and finish edges on some small pieces. Friday will be a full day, delivering in the morning, installing, then the event itself is from 6 - 9 pm and then afterwards I take it all down. One of the cool aspects of the event is that there's also a band! "The Forefathers" who play ethereal music. The event is open to the public, $5 per person, includes a wine ticket. Here's a link to check it out
Culture and Cocktails and even RSVP
