Beauty Consumes Us

We are known to be a society consumed with beauty.
In the positive sense, being in the presence of beautiful things,
we are uplifted in all their pleasantness.
"'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,' – that is all / Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know." Keats, in his Ode to a Grecian Urn.

I am very influenced by my surroundings. Taking time to be present in a garden or a walk in the wood feels revitalizing. The where and how we live contributes to who we are and what we become. In my recent series of paintings the life about the objects becomes part of the object. Nature and flowers fill the objects like the vase and the shoes.

Being in a well designed space with our favorite colors, and items that bring us pleasure
benefits us with feelings of revitalization and comfort. Bring in what you love to your space allowing the beauty of your surroundings to become part of your everyday.

Thank you Mayra!! These pieces truly reflect that distinct feeling I experience about how we are influenced by experiences.
